Community & Education

SITA's activities impact on the lives of many Australians.

Community consultation, open dialogue with our stakeholders, and supporting the communities in which we operate is important to us.

We are also committed to waste education to increase awareness amongst the public and our customers, and change behaviours to increase recycling and re-use efforts and minimise the generation of waste at home and at work.

With the help of our customers, employees, governments and partner organisations, we are making a meaningful contribution to sustainable development and communities.

We support many activities in the area of education, the arts, environment, youth, and sports.

Visitors to the new SITA Hallam Road Education Centre, which was officially opened by Victorian Deputy Premier and Minister for the Environment, John Thwaites, last year, now have the opportunity to learn about the latest waste recovery technologies which reduce the amount of household and building waste going to landfill.

The Education Centre will give students and community and industry groups an insight into the ways that recycling can reduce landfill and costs.
