The management of SITA Environmental Solutions is committed to providing a safe and healthy working environment for all its employees. This policy recognises that this is the responsibility of management working in conjunction with employees to ensure ongoing active prevention of injury and illness in our workplace.

This policy is the cornerstone of a program developed to embody the prevention, compensation and rehabilitation principles, which are central to RISK MANAGEMENT. AS4801 is being implemented nationally to assist in this occupational risk management.

Prevention
The program will ensure that:
  1. Suitable plant and equipment are provided and maintained.
  2. Safe systems at work are implemented and observed.
  3. Adequate information, training and supervisors are provided.
  4. Relevant acts, regulations, codes and standards are the minimum acceptable requirements throughout the organisation.

Accident Prevention
In the event of an accident occurring a thorough investigation will be undertaken to, as far as is practicable, reduce the risk of subsequent injury of that kind.

Compensation
Effective WorkCover claims management us undertaken to ensure that injured employees receive appropriate compensation and that the organisation minimises its losses.

Rehabilitation / Return to work
Management recognises and accepts its obligations under Section 156 of the Accident Compensation Act 1985, to assist in the rehabilitation of employees who are injured or ill as a result of their work.
